Q: What scene in this book was the toughest to write and why?
A: The opening, which is usually the easiest for me. But not only where they starting with animosity, which I wanted to get right and yet also have that frisson of attraction, plus there are clues hidden in the scene that had to be carefully placed, like when you’re hiding Easter eggs from your kids. You want them to notice them … but maybe not right away.
