➜ Friday Finds & Reader Recommendations – 11-03-2023 <— 45 NEW RELEASES ON TODAY'S FRIDAY FINDS
LIST! I'm telling you, Thursday is the new Tuesday. Books by Mia Sheridan, Emma Scott, Jewel E. Ann, Natasha Madison, J. Sterling, Jaymin Eve, Stuart Reardon & Jane Harvey-Berrick, T.M. Smith and sooooo many more!!
Kathy: I’m reading Because of Her (the last book in the Jack and Jill Series) by Jewel E. Ann. Just started but sad this will be
the last book in this much loved series.
➜ Kitchen Heat by Kathleen McFall and Clark Hays IS LIVE & we have a signed book giveaway, a recipe, a teaser + a note from the authors! THE SINGLE MOM WAITRESS -SCREENWRITER (who’s nursing a heartbreak) & THE HOTTEST CHEF SHE’S EVER SEEN
(who’s also nursing a heartbreak…) 😉 The
authors leave us a very personal (and fun!!) note about the inspiration for the book. Yep! It's in part, inspired by how they met, how they felt and... where they worked together. ;)
Here's a tidbit:
...We owe our storybook relationship to that restaurant, which is why we chose to set
Kitchen Heat there. At least in the 90s, when the book is set, restaurants were a hotbed of hookups. The work is so intense and so grounded in the senses and the sensual, the flavors and textures of cooking, the act of serving and connecting with strangers in this sort of forced intimacy, that, not surprisingly, staff tend to fall in and out of love, and bed, on a regular basis. And since there’s always so many new faces (and bodies), it’s like a micro-dating
site...
➜ Reader Confession – How Cristina cures her reader’s block… <— Cristina is not only a sneak reader (see her past confession) but she also has a secret list of our most highly recommended books! And she swears it has never failed her yet. No matter what new book she’s squirreling over, and/or excited to read, if she hits a bump and can’t get out of the book funk, her special “Epic Book
Recommendations” list gets her going back on track again.
Joy: OMG, this is soooooo me! There are times when I finish a really awesome book and have book hangover to the 5th power and am unable to decide what I want to read next. It drives me wonky when that happens, lol. I have so many books to in my “Maryse says it’s really really good” list that I want to read, but then something
new comes out (such as When Life Happens) that Maryse will say “read this now” and I feel compelled (lol) to read what she’s reading.
But….(sigh), I feel out of the loop when someone on the blog mentions a well loved book or series such as Colleen Hoover’s Slammed that I haven’t read yet or mentions a fave character that I have no idea who it is (such as Kellan, what book is he
in).
I just read the Gabriel’s Inferno Trilogy and loved it even though Julia’s character annoyed me frequently and the ending left me feeling empty. When I’m in book limbo, I go to your 5 star list and choose the cover that I like the most. Yes, I’m a book cover snob.
Anywho,
it’s nice to know that I’m not the only person that is so indecisive about what to read next.
➜ Reader Questions <— Our latest, solved and unsolved! I LOVE THESE 'cause it introduces us to new books + we get to build mimi-lists of guesses in specific tropes. And you know me. I LOVE lists!!
